Courier Collections

Send your saw blades, drills and router bits from anywhere in South Africa for collection, sharpening and return delivery. We handle the booking, tagging and workshop turn around so your tools get back to work with less down time.

How the collection booking works

Our courier collection service is set up for customers in Pinetown, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town and surrounding areas, as well as smaller towns and industrial sites across the country. You start with the enquiry form on our contact page and tell us what needs sharpening, how many items you have, and where the parcel must be collected.

Once we review the request, we confirm the collection details and guide you on packing. This helps us keep blades, drills and router bits separated and easy to identify when they arrive at the workshop. If you have mixed tool types or a batch from a workshop floor, we can tag them on receipt so each item is traced properly.

Packing your tools for courier pickup

Good packing protects cutting edges and also keeps the courier safe. Use a strong box, wrap sharp items individually, and make sure nothing can move around inside the parcel. If you are sending saw blades, place cardboard between each blade. For router bits and drills, small envelopes or sealed pouches work well.

  • Wrap each tool so teeth and tips do not rub together.
  • Use enough padding to stop movement in transit.
  • Mark the box clearly with your name and contact details.
  • Include a note with the quantity and the service you need.

If you are in a coastal area like Durban, it helps to dry tools before packing so surface rust does not start while the parcel is on the move. For workshops in Gauteng, where dust and fine metal swarf can build up quickly, clean the items first so we can inspect the edges properly on arrival.

What happens when the parcel reaches Pinetown

When your parcel arrives at our Pinetown base, we log the tools in, check the condition, and confirm the work required. From there the items go to the right technician for saw blade sharpening, drill sharpening, router bit sharpening, or regrinding work such as tooth face grinding, top grinding, diameter correction, burn mark removal, chipped edge recovery, angle resetting and balance checking.

If we spot damage that may affect performance, we will flag it before work starts. This is useful for customers sending in commercial batches, because it avoids surprises and keeps the job moving. We also use batch tool tagging where needed, so your items stay organised through the process.

Return delivery after sharpening or regrinding

Once the work is complete, we prepare your order for return courier delivery. Your sharpened tools are packed carefully so the finished edges stay protected on the way back to you. We arrange the return to the same address or to another site if you need the parcel delivered to a branch, workshop, or project location.

Many customers in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town prefer return delivery to a busy business address, while others ask for home delivery in Westville, Hillcrest or nearby areas. If your site has access rules, security procedures or loading bay times, tell us upfront so we can plan the handover properly.

Typical jobs we collect nationwide

Our courier collection service is suited to both hobby users and busy workshops. Some clients send a few blades at a time, while others book regular collections for production tools that need to stay in circulation. The service is especially useful when you do not have the time to travel to Pinetown or when the workshop is running tight on labour and transport.

  • Table saw and panel saw blades.
  • Drills with worn cutting edges.
  • Router bits needing profile recovery.
  • Tools with burn marks, chipping or poor balance.
  • Batch orders from joinery shops and fabrication teams.

We also support starter training and maintenance advice for clients who want better tool life between collections. That can save money over time, especially where load-shedding or interrupted shifts mean equipment gets used in shorter, more intense runs.

Turnaround, local conditions and practical advice

Turnaround depends on the number of items, the condition of the tools, and the service required. Simple sharpening jobs may move quickly, while diameter correction or chipped edge recovery can take longer. If your order is urgent, mention it on the enquiry form so we can advise what is realistic.

South African working conditions vary a lot. Coastal humidity can affect storage, dust can blunt edges faster inland, and some municipal sites require deliveries during fixed access hours. If you share those details when booking, it makes the process smoother and avoids delays.

  • Tell us if the tools are for immediate production or scheduled maintenance.
  • Let us know about site access, gate codes or loading restrictions.
  • Send a clear count of items so the return is checked against the original parcel.

We keep the process simple from collection to return, and we make sure each step is traceable. That way you know where your tools are, what work has been done, and when to expect them back.
