1. Using this website and enquiry form
This website is provided for information about our sharpening and regrinding services, training, and courier collection arrangements. It is intended for hobbyists, workshops, factories, joiners, contractors and other customers who need saw blade sharpening, drill sharpening, router bit sharpening, or related services.
When you submit an enquiry, you agree that the details you provide are accurate, current, and complete. We may rely on the information supplied to prepare a quotation, confirm collection, or assess whether a tool can be handled safely and properly.
- Use the site lawfully and for legitimate business or personal enquiries only.
- Do not send false details, misleading tool descriptions, or contaminated items.
- Do not interfere with the website, its forms, or any related systems.
2. Quotes, assessments, and service scope
Any quotation, estimate, turnaround time, or assessment given through the site or by our team is based on the information available at the time. Final pricing may change after inspection, especially where tools require burn mark removal, diameter correction, angle resetting, chipped edge recovery, or extra grinding work.
We aim to handle each job carefully, but some tools may not be suitable for regrinding due to wear, cracking, heat damage, or poor previous repairs. In such cases we may decline the job or recommend replacement, because safety and cut quality come first.
- Prices are subject to inspection and confirmed condition.
- Service scope depends on tool type, material, and wear.
- We may refuse a job where the tool is unsafe or uneconomical to repair.
3. Courier collections, handovers, and risk
Where courier collection is arranged, you must pack tools securely and mark the consignment clearly. Risk in transit remains your responsibility until the items are received and logged by our workshop in Pinetown, unless we have confirmed otherwise in writing.
We accept collections from areas including Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Westville and Hillcrest. Delivery times depend on courier schedules, traffic, weather, load shedding disruptions and routing. We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party transport providers.
- Remove loose accessories and dangerous attachments before dispatch.
- Wrap sharp edges and protect cutting faces to prevent damage in transit.
- Keep proof of collection, tracking details, and item counts for your records.
4. Customer obligations and safe handling
You are responsible for ensuring that the items you submit are clean enough to be handled safely and that any contamination, resin, coolant residue, oil, or metal swarf is removed before packing where practical. If a tool has been used on treated timber, composite board, or material that may carry hazardous dust, please tell us before collection.
By using our service, you confirm that you have authority to submit the tools for work. If you are sending company tools, workshop stock, or leased equipment, you must have permission from the owner or employer. We may request batch tool tagging details to keep track of items where multiple tools arrive together.
5. Payments, ownership, and collection of finished tools
Tools remain your property, but we may retain finished items until outstanding amounts are paid in full. Payment terms will be agreed on a case by case basis. If goods are not collected or returned within a reasonable period after completion, we may charge storage or handling fees where applicable and allowed by law.
Finished items should be checked as soon as they are received. Any query about a completed job must be raised without delay so we can inspect the tool and determine next steps. Once a tool has been used again, modified, or fitted into production, further claims may be harder to assess fairly.
6. Liability, law, and changes to these terms
While we take care in our work, no sharpening or regrinding process can remove all risk. CutTool Sharpening and the operator, Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd, are not liable for indirect loss, lost production, consequential damage, or any loss arising from misuse, incorrect fitting, poor machine setup, or use outside the intended purpose of the tool.
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. We may update them from time to time to reflect changes in our services, workshop procedures, or legal requirements. The version published on this website applies from the date it is posted.
For any question about these terms, use the enquiry form on our contact page and we will respond through that channel.
