Work that keeps workshops moving
Our team supports woodworkers, contractors and hobby users who rely on sharp, correctly set cutting tools. In our Pinetown workshop, the work is hands-on and precise, from saw blade sharpening to drill sharpening, router bit sharpening and regrinding work that needs a steady eye. We also handle courier collections for clients across South Africa, so the pace can be busy and the standards stay high.
People who do well here are careful with detail, comfortable working with their hands, and happy to follow process. We serve clients in Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town, so consistency matters every day.
Roles we hire for as the workshop grows
We do not keep a fixed vacancy list on this page, but we regularly look for people in technical, operational and support roles. Depending on the business need, that can include sharpening technicians, regrinding assistants, courier coordination, training support and workshop administration.
- Tool sharpening and regrinding support for saws, drills and router bits
- Courier collections and batch handling for client orders
- Training support for starter kits and maintenance guidance
- Workshop admin, sorting and tagging work
If you have trade experience or a strong willingness to learn, we are open to hearing from you. A practical mindset and good attendance count for a lot here.
What the work day looks like
Our workshop team deals with incoming tools, job tagging, inspection and careful finishing. Some days are about burn mark removal and diameter correction, other days need angle resetting, balance checking or chipped edge recovery. The job calls for patience, clean working habits and good communication between team members.
In KwaZulu-Natal, humidity and summer heat can affect storage and handling, so we pay attention to tool condition and packing. Load-shedding also means you must be able to work with planning and discipline when schedules shift a bit.
What we value in new team members
We look for people who want to work properly and keep learning. Experience helps, but the right attitude is just as important. If you can follow instructions, keep your work area tidy and take pride in the final finish, you will fit in well.
- Attention to detail and a steady hand
- Respect for deadlines and customer tools
- Good communication with the team
- Interest in practical training and workshop standards
We work with a mix of experienced specialists and newer team members, so there is room to learn from people who know the trade well.
Training, starter kits and trade development
One part of our service is training and starter kits for people who want to maintain their own cutting tools or understand the basics before joining the trade. That same spirit carries into our workplace. We support practical learning, measured improvement and proper handling of equipment from day one.
If you join the team, you may be involved in showing clients how to care for blades, bits and drills, or helping prepare simple maintenance guidance. It is useful work and it helps keep standards consistent across jobs.
